I'm a software developer focused on scalable web applications

I’m a software developer from the Netherlands with a strong interest in scalable web applications, backend systems, open-source software, and technical product development. Over the years, I’ve worked on personal, school, and collaborative projects that helped me grow from building simple websites into developing modern applications and contributing to larger real-world platforms.

In 2023, I started the Creative Software Development course at Grafisch Lyceum Utrecht, where I focus on web development, software engineering, and technical collaboration. Since then, I’ve continued improving my skills through practical projects involving architecture, backend development, product thinking, and technical decision-making within both independent and team-based environments.

Alongside development, I’ve become increasingly interested in software engineering concepts such as maintainability, scalability, system architecture, cybersecurity, and long-term product design. My current work includes collaborative public-sector and open-source projects where I contribute not only as a developer, but also in technical leadership and product-oriented roles.

Looking ahead, I aim to continue building impactful software while expanding my expertise in backend engineering, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, and scalable systems. I also plan to further my education internationally — with a strong interest in studying Computer Science at Trinity College Dublin in the future.

I was born and raised in the Netherlands, where my interest in technology started through creativity and curiosity. Before programming, I spent a lot of time experimenting with video editing, graphic design, online content creation, and exploring how digital platforms worked behind the scenes. That curiosity eventually led me towards website builders like Weebly and Wix, and later into learning real web development and software engineering.

Over time, what started as experimenting with websites evolved into a deeper interest in building systems, solving technical problems, and creating software that can support real users and organisations. I enjoy understanding how applications work internally — from backend logic and databases to architecture, scalability, and maintainability.

In 2023, I started the Creative Software Development course at Grafisch Lyceum Utrecht, following the Web Development profile. During my studies, I continued building practical experience through personal projects, collaborative development, open-source contributions, and public-sector related platforms. My portfolio website itself originally started as a first-year project and has continuously evolved alongside my own growth as a developer.

Today, I mainly focus on web development, backend systems, technical product development, and collaborative software engineering. I especially enjoy projects that combine technical challenges with real-world impact — whether through open-source collaboration, scalable platforms, automation, or improving workflows for organisations and users.

Outside of software development, I enjoy gaming, music, movies, attending hardstyle and hardcore festivals, airsoft, and card games like Magic: The Gathering. These interests help me stay creative, balanced, and continuously curious both inside and outside the technical world.

Looking ahead, I want to continue growing into a multi-skilled software engineer by combining education, real-world experience, and long-term technical development. My interests continue to expand into areas such as cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, scalable backend systems, and software architecture — with the goal of building software that is both technically strong and meaningful for the people who use it.
