This portfolio website is my personal platform for presenting my projects, technical skills, work experience, and growth as a software developer. It started as a first-year school project during my Creative Software Development course at Grafisch Lyceum Utrecht and has since evolved into a fully custom-built portfolio with a stronger focus on maintainability, accessibility, multilingual support, and professional presentation.
The project is built around a custom PHP-based structure with dynamic content loaded from JSON files, making it easier to manage pages, projects, translations, skills, and other portfolio data. The latest major update introduced multiple language support, improved routing, SEO improvements, accessibility improvements based on WCAG 2.2 AA, and a staging environment for testing updates before release.
Besides being a portfolio, this project also acts as a long-term learning environment where I experiment with frontend design, backend structure, localisation, user experience, performance, and scalable content management. It gives me a practical place to improve my own development workflow while keeping the website flexible enough to grow alongside my experience.
As the sole developer and designer, I am responsible for the full technical and creative direction of the project, including architecture, UI design, frontend development, PHP logic, routing, localisation, SEO, accessibility, content structure, and long-term maintenance.
